3. I don't see the attraction
Then again, I can't even bear it when it's cooked (except shellfish). Roll me up some avocado and cucumbers and carrots and I'm happy. The smelly slimy stuff? No thank you.

I love it, but sushi is the vinegared rice, not the fish (just in reference to the bait option)

10. Honestly, I can take or leave it
I think I'm one of the only people in the world who is essentially neutral on the question of sushi; just about everyone I know either loves it or can't stand it (or isn't even willing to try it!). I like the taste of some of the kinds I've tasted pretty well, but wouldn't lose any sleep over never eating it again for the rest of my life, either!

12. I can only quote my grandfather ...
He served in the Navy during WWII. When he was still alive, I vividly recall him telling me: "Never eat anything that comes out of the sea."

Apparently, he'd seen a lot of things dumped off of the ships and into the ocean. Whether or not he was correct, I know fish was never served at his house, and I certainly developed a dislike for it. ;)

13. Food of the gods
The Japanese are smart people. It's delicious, nourishing, and doesn't give you what I call "burger belly." And you know, many of the people who live to be almost 120 are asians who eat rice and fish all their lives. Japan has one of the highest life expectancies in the world, at around 82 years.
