I had a similar project as an undergrad for my keystone course in political theory. I like to see other people's approaches to a problem like this. I failed to convince virtually-anybody, but I got a sympathy B+ because my professor said that my argument was well-thought-out and my failure to convince was due to "biases and historical-ignorance".
You can tell people The Truth and not have a single person listen, or you can get them to believe lies if you're eloquent about it. Truth and logic can't be measured by how many people believe it...
The assignment is specifically on how persuasive you are--I'd like to think the professor based it off the ice cream scene from the movie version of "Thank You for Smoking".

bush proposed it, bush ruined economy, bush's actions made it an asshole idea. Anyone want to buy me a beer after class?? And to think, I only got a BA!
