BIRD sex and violence that is...I was studying the courtship behavior of Great Bower Birds and had to score how many times a male "scored" among other things.
They males would build stick structures to attract females and jealous rival males would often come while the owner was away and would destroy the structure by pulling sticks out or stealing decorations (shells and feathers). Sometimes the owner would come home in the middle of this and the two male birds would get in a big fight...losts of squawking and feathers flying..Watching those birds was like watching a avian soap opera..Lets see, I think this experience would qualify me as the Lounge Pornithologist.
