Great. One more thing to worry about.
Local TV news had a story last night about a rash of thieves (I kid you not) drilling holes in gasoline tanks of cars and trucks to steal the gas.

You do know what's next, right?

2. Hmmm . . .
I wonder if George Miller really was on to something with his post apocalyptic "Mad Max" series.

3. It's amusing that as the gas supply goes down, the engine size goes up
in those movies, anyway.

Still, if I can start riding around with a crossbow on my forearm and a mohawk on my head, that'd be cool.

7. Stranger yet-you know what survives the apocalypse (other than tattoo artists & bad hair stylists)?
Tom Petty

8. That was what I thought as well
Petrol is in extremely short supply, so everyone has really fast cars and drives them like a wanker. :D

9. On the other hand, isn't that what's happening in real life?
Petrol is becoming more and more expensive. And in the meantime, the car makers are falling over each other to make bigger and bigger trucks and SUVs. Even in Europe, the cars are getting steadily bigger and heavier, and particularly in Germany, BMW, Audi and Mercedes are locked in an arms race to see who can make a car with the most horsepower.

Hell, even I swapped my 1.4 litre hatchback for a 2.0 turbo sedan.

10. I'll probably be trading in my 2.0 turbo for a Honda Fit sometime soon

4. It was easier in the 1970s when gas caps weren't locked.
No need to damage anything, just siphon off the gas.

11. We had a story yesterday morning... similar
thieves are climbing under high-riding vehicles (trucks/SUV) and cutting off the catalytic converters. Apparently the metal in those things is really worth something. Local police caught some theives with a stash that would have fetched about $6K at salvage yard.
