and I'm not even an art major! I'm taking an athletic facilities management course and one of the assignments is to design a playground. We had a whole checklist of things to include and we had to write a written explanation of everything inside of it but now I'm working on the diagram. The prof showed us examples of past projects and some people went all out designing theirs, unfortunately I'm not very artsy so a colored pencil drawing will have to do.

But it just makes me laugh that I'm still doing arts and crafts in school even this far into my education :)

1. Colored pencils aren't arts & crafts
They are a valid medium for real works of art. I may be biased though as that is what I started with. You would be amazed by some of the realism using colored pencils.

4. Respected art form
All told, I probably have 300+ Prismacolor pencils. With these babies and the right paper you can have "painting" that looks like oil, but without the mess. One of my favorite CP artists...http://www.arlenesteinberg.com/ArlenesGalleryPage.htm. CPs are my link to sanity.
