I'm indulging in the hardcore music of my youth...
Well, actually I was a little tyke when this stuff came out, but I LOVE it. Youth of Today, Minor Threat, and my favorite comp, This Is Boston, Not LA. :D

1. There better be some...
Dropkick Murphy's in that mix.

If there isn't, I heard they will kick you out of Boston.

3. Sigh......
Makes me feel old. I saw most of the bands you mentioned and most of the ones on that comp live. Minor Threat still holds up. YOT....not so much. The final EP (Disengage) was all that ever did anything for me. Although I like Shelter and Judge.

6. If you're listening on your ipod, you lose 1,000 scene points.
:P

Double that if you actually paid for any of the songs.

9. Next time you have to say they're all on vinyl. That you either bought at shows when you were three
(for bonus points, you bought them out of the trunk of one of the band members cars after the show, for even more bonus points this leads into a story about what an asshole said person is) or lovingly recovered them from a dumpster, funky used record shop or thrift store, be because somebody less true than you didn't want them anymore.

10. I used to play Minor Threat on my graveyard shifts
WYBC, New Haven, mid-'80s. The station had "New Rock 94" from 11 to 3am, then the graveyard, then "Jazz 94" after 6. So I'd do an hour of New Rock, where Minor Threat was a staple (a New England band I recall from then was Salem 66), an hour of whatever (the station still had an archive from the '70s when it was all prog rock), then an hour of jazz. That was how I got into jazz: this being college radio, the jazz jock failed to show up one morning, so I stayed on to fill in, and got discovered by the jazz director!

12. I kind of got into jazz the same way. I was a college DJ in the early 80's and
our station's format was pretty wide open. We had a Blues show, Reggae show, Folk show, Classical show, etc. Sundays were all jazz -- 24 hours of it.

I did a "regular" show which meant that I could play just about anything I wanted, but we had to play one jazz song, one folk song, and 3 new songs per hour. I started getting into jazz and then started hanging with the "All Jazz Sunday" jocks when they did their shows. One of the jocks needed someone to cover his shift and I filled in. From then on, I did a lot of Jazz shows and learned more and more about it.

Man, I miss being on the radio.

11. I used to have the coolest Minor Threat T-Shirt...
It got ripped to shreds at a Dead Kennedys' show in DC. I wish I still had it.
