WOW!

Fantastic movie!!

Apart from a few 9-11-related tense awful moments in the beginning watching NYC buildings fall down again, the movie was excellent.

But my spoiler is this: I find it amazing that the video camera used to "film" the whole movie, while it had somewhat typical graininess of a handheld video and all the other video effects one would expect from a handhold, I'm totally impressed that whatever the hell camera it was had a microphone that recorded all sound in TOTALLY FUCKING PURE DOLBY ASSKICKINGNESS.

:-)

My only disappointment with the film is that a soundtrack appeared during the credits. As the credits started, and it was just silent, I was very excited, because other than the music at the party, the movie has no soundtrack - I thought that was a wonderful thing! A whole movie, in today's world, without a soundtrack. And then a few minutes into the credits, the fucking music started. It was good music, but for me it totally ruined the emotional impact of the ending of the movie going blank, and totally without any resolution whatsoever (other than the obvious "property of DOD stuff") and then straight into credits in silence.

Shoulda kept the silence. It set a truly amazing mood.

But still, I want that video camera. That thing records sound better than it sounds in real life. :-)

But, damn, what a cool movie.

1. Good premise, silly execution.
What kind of idiot climbs into a partially collapsed skyscraper FILMING the entire thing?

4. want to know what that movie needed?
a tripod!

seriously that movie was flat out awful! It reminded me of the old sim city game where one of the disasters was bowser attack.

5. I liked it.
The characters were annoying but I did think it was a interesting approach to a monster movie.

There are so many bad tv shows out there that should be crashed by an angry sea monster. Could you image how much better HBO's 'Tell Me That You Love Me' if one of the main characters was attacked by one of parasites from the Cloverfield Monster? It would be so awesome.

:silly:
