1. Braces suck
I had them for seven plus years, then I had both top and bottom jaws cut off, reconfigured, and put back on again (wired shut for six months). Now, 20 years later, I'm getting braces again next month!

Oh well-you WILL forget that they are there in just a few weeks.

And please remember to ALWAYS wear your retainer when they come off!

4. They weren't so careful about the retainer thing when I got mine off,
didn't want me to wear it all the time, (just at night) etc. So, my teeth slipped back to where they were. I wore braces for years, and you'd never know it to look at me. Dammit!

16. Exactly what happened to me
they told me to stop wearing it, and now I have round two, which will only be 13-14 months total and not as bad as the first time around.

2. My daughter just got hers off last month!
The first thing she wanted was corn on the cob!!

Hopefully she won't have to wear them again in a couple of years. She's 10.

3. I'm sorry. I hope they're not uncomfortable for very long.
I guess you must get used to them after a while.

I'm fortunate that I've never had any serious dental work done. The worst was this year, getting some fillings taken out and replaced.

I hope you don't need them for long.

11. I got new leg braces today!
They're great; they have a hinge at the ankles so I have more freedom of movement. Sigh. The fact that I'm exicted about new leg braces shows you how dull I am.

15. Those were the days!
I felt like mine were being tightened by pliers. And after all these years, my teeth are crooked all over again.
