Do you ever just get sick of everything extraneous?
I'm in one of those moods this week...I'm just UGH! with everything, except for Economics, French podcasts, and my Husband.

Otherwise, I say fuck it to my classmates, friends, tv, family, etc. I don't even want to cook! :o

I'm just stretched so far and worn out. I want to lay in bed and eat pizza and listen to my iPod and watch TV5.

Yes, the semester is winding down and the work is ramping up. I'm in a fine mood, actually, just in one of those fuck it! phases tonight.

I'll be fine by morning. :P

/vent over. :)

3. I wish that I could!
But, I will be on the road all day tomorrow doing family stuff, spending the weekend writing a scholarship app and working on research papers, and on and on and on... x(

May 23rd, 6 pm can't get here soon enough (yes my last final is the *absolutely* last final of the semester x( )

2. I'm in academia, too
And I have to pull in the planks this time every semester. I'm stacked up w/ papers, my work, and committee stuff. Plus, losing a week to snow days (i.e. a Tues and Thurs off) have really put the pinch on.

For real, just like things are always exciting the first few day, I'm like this every term w/ about 4 weeks to go. I'll be smiling by the end of next week, I imagine.

Hang in there.....

:hi:

5. Thanks, only 6 weeks and 1 day left for me...
Although, my list of deadlines is horrendous! x(

I'll get through it fine, I'm just tired. And I can't believe that I'm doing a 5th year. I'm sick in the head.

:pals:

4. lol
I can go one step further and say fuck walking and fuck breathing. :D

It was different a few days back, though. I felt more energetic and was bold enough to be driven to our local library branch. I camped my arse down in front of the classics section. Aside from that day though, yeah, I feel bothered with very little.

I need a toilet break. Boo!

7. I'm kind of obsessed with literature at the moment
I discovered that with regard to Les Miserables, there is one particular edition that is strongly recommended above all the rest. Well, as far as English translations are concerned, alas my French is almost non-existent. Well, this edition, unabridged, I phoned said branch and gave them details as to what's on the cover. They didn't have it but they can inquire elsewhere and have it sent to our local branch. This will take them some days. Now, at this point I had just finished The Count of Monte Cristo and was hungry to begin another book. So, I made the trek and found the cover design of 'Jane Eyre' pleasant enough, and of course I'm aware the prose is held in high regard. So yeah, I've invested myself in this material and am enjoying it immensely. It's written beautifully, beautifully bleak at times.

9. This one

As with Jane, I can appreciate the cover design, or more specifically the figure who is so iconic with the title "Les Miserables". I can't say why exactly, but the design of how the person is presented... it's captivating somehow.

I've been alright. The seizure was a double-edged sword in that it's possible it was set off by sleep deprivation - it occurred only minutes after rising from a sleep that only spanned five hours or so. Since then I've made concerted attempts to sleep for very long durations - yesterday it was 12, 13 hours! I put this down to the increase of energy. It's not all one way, though. Often I tire easily, it's true. Still, I'm grateful that I'm showing some improvement. The transplant team reckon my condition will degenerate, barring a miracle. Since the two months since I left hospital on a prolonged basis, I wouldn't say I feel especially worse. I'll take it.

A Russian woman will soon be arriving at our house to cut my hair. It's something she doesn't do often, but she's sympathetic towards my plight. :D Oh and I noticed that thread where someone got a new haircut. I doubt I'll have the balls to contribute. But it's true that my hair is really really really big. As in the past I won't make any complex demands - "just make it a bit tidier, ma'am". It's also important that she doesn't penetrate too near to the scalp as I've been cut in the past and at the moment I'm on a blood thinning drug called Warfarin - a side effect is that I bleed more than a person who isn't on it. Still it's necessary as it makes it easier for blood and oxygen to be distributed more thoroughly through my narrow vessels.

It hasn't been long since I've invested myself in literature, though. For most of my life I would read, over and over again, charming little series that I enjoyed as a child and as a teen. Goosebumps, Animorphs, stuff like that. But now I'm into contemporary and classic material of a more mature nature - my favourite author is Haruki Murakami.

So, yeah. I'm sorry for steering your thread off-topic. It's a strong tendency of mine, for I enjoy writing and can easily let myself go.
