I'm drinking warm sake from a box - what are you doing?
While listening to a recording of Mahler Symphony No. 5, conducted by the incredible SADO Yutaka, which I just bought last night at a concert and which the maestro himself signed in my presence. I'm getting ready to do some writing on my new A4 B-lined paper.

Woo hoo!!

(yes, I'm no longer in the USA. In fact, I'm in a country that doesn't have Internet at all!)

And it will take longer than that to respond.

:silly:

Congratulations on the free bloviation performance you are attending! I hope it's worth every penny you paid for it.

19. I moved stuff around in my room last night
and in doing so unplugged my computer from the mouse, keyboard, and printer. I asked my son to put it back together for me and he told me just to plug the parts that matched to ports and to do it my self. As you can see I did it. I'd like a standing ovation and applause, pleas. :)

20. Sucking warm beer from a can
while lobotomizing LURCH; the oldest computer on my network.

Just nuked the hard drive, and I'm re-installing a fresh copy of Win2k, the best OS it can handle.

In an hour or so, it will be sitting on the sidewalk with a "free computer" sign.

Meanwhile, installing Eclipse/Europa on Dujour, doing homework on Xipe-Totec, and helping my son configure Bane, his Mac laptop; the newest addition to the network.

Toaster, Bushbaby, Mapachtli, and Flatface are running for cover.

21. I'm cooking elbow macaroni and procrastinating...
I should be writing or reading something (much to choose from), but no, I'm watching a crappy true crime show on MSNBC, drinking water and cooking. Then, I will pour a glass of wine and read my new book "The Soulful Science: What Economist Really Do and Why It Matters"

:D

25. I find myself struggling with the subject title - a tendency is to fill it with "um" or "well"
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 08:00 PM by bixente
At the moment I'm sitting here at my desk typing this message. That's not very interesting though, so I'll add further details. On my right is Sustagen which is listed as a "everyday nutritional drink". I'm sure it's good for me as they offered it to me daily at the Alfred . It tastes nice, too - Dutch chocolate! 98% fat free, high in protein, low GI.

About sake. I have this weird obsession with anything as long as its Japanese. Well that may be a slight exaggeration, but not much. Anyway, last year there was a newspaper liftout giving focus to Asian foods and Asian drinks - a full page was dedicated to what makes sake what it is. In my life I've drank very little alcohol - a sip here, a sip there, none of which I liked much - but I was willing to give a random sake bottle a chance because, er, it's Japanese.

Of course that's not the only Japanese thing you mention. That's cool. I've invested myself in Japanese literature, Japanese music, Japanese film, Japanese cuisine, the language and I'm strongly attracted to the oriental look - Japanese women in particular. The language sounds nice, too. It's my dream to some day travel there, but the truth is, it feels so far away.
