any butchers/beef experts out there?
I have the 2" slab of beef and along one side it appears to be the sheared off sections of rib ends

what cut would you call that?

2. nope, the bones are MUCH smaller and the thing looks like a chuck roast sorta
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 02:17 PM by AZDemDist6
but it's different in it's shape between the connective tissue than I usually see on a chuck roast

and it has another round bone a few inches away from the rib looking things

do I have to take a pic of the thing, it's driving me nutz

12. Not to fly too far OT: what kind?
Rather what do you plant, and how big a plot is it?

I'd love to have a garden and grow some of my food.

13. I have two plots
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 04:19 PM by AZDemDist6
one is the old bathtub from this mobile home I call the 'kitchen garden' (5 foot round) that is at the base of my deck

it has currently growing (I use the square foot gardening method here so it will change throughout the season)

parsley
basil
marojam
tomatoes
carrots
radish
lettuce (several varieties)
sweet peas
broccoli
eggplant

the big plot (25x15)will be planted this next week to 10 days with

corn
sunflowers
cucumbers
squash
pinto beans
green beans
cantaloupes
watermelons
bell peppers
sage
oregano
and probably a couple more tomatoes

I also have an apricot tree, an apple tree and an asparagus bed and every autumn I help my friends harvest their pecan trees and get 30-40 pounds of pecans in the freezer

my biggest problem is freezer space at harvest

edit to add linky to some pics

18. and I'm asking for BUTCHERS!!!!
Ok, I eat meat, I've even been known to butcher my own food, but if I showed frolicking calves and asked for a butcher, the Lounge Lizards would descend like a pack a rabid wolves all up side my head.

but since you like frolicking calves, here ya go...

19. Indeed I do like frolicking calves
sometimes on my way to work, I have to pull over and watch them, because I can't help it..and because they are just so darned cute.

Running and jumping and testing out all their mad skills.

You did say butcher.

Like I said. I knew better.
