2007 (it's a new car, just a leftover) Hyundai Tuscon. And yes, I got that color.

Yes, it's an SUV, but it's a small SUV (about the same size as a Rav4). 4 cdr., 5 sp. manual transmission. It should get 30 mpg

Still, with the little SUVs you do have to be careful when turning. They're the ones that can tip over. The two main complaints about SUVs don't apply to all SUVs. The big ones don't tip over, and the little ones aren't gas hogs. :)

I don't know what possessed me to trade it it. My son sold me this car, and it drove very nice, and I'm sure it will serve me well.

I guess I'm just excited to have a new car.

I learned a lot through tis buying process. I have an amazing credit rating. I could have walked off the lot w/ almost any car. I was a little over my head as far as what I owed on the Scion versus what it was actually worth. But it's all working out.

Add in the rebate I'll get from the Scion extended warrantee that I'll never use and some other financial shuffling. and I'll probably be better off, both month to month and on paper.

so it's all good

I think they are pretty safe

I test drove one when they first came out but I think they've got more power now.

They are competitive with the Rav 4, Honda CRV, and the Subaru Forrester

However I think they are roomier than the Rav 4

Be curious about the service and dependability. (I know your son works there but I'd like to know how it works out)
