1. I think it actually started on the wrong side of the shark
However, I never get tired of whispering "Ssliiiideeersss" to my wife whenever we see a guy who looks even remotely like Jerry O'Connell. I don't know why that's funny, but it is...

2. Seasons 1 and 2 were mostly awesome, especially by FOX standards
Season 3 had "Double Cross", "The Guardian", and "The Fire Within" as being even remotely original sci-fi; the rest were movie ripoffs of the week; never mind Roger Daltry...

Season 4 on Sci-Fi channel was a good revival, but the kromaggs became way too Earthy with military standards, and did not act like the structure presented in season 2's classic "Invasion".

After season 2, the show moved to Los Angeles, from Vancouver, because Tracy Torme kept defying FOX suits.

Also, if Sliders was not renewed, they'd have picked up "Doctor Who". Given how bad season 3 devolved into, I'm glad they didn't get WHO.

Mind you, with fart jokes, the new series of WHO wouldn't be out of place on the Sunday night cartoon line-up, but I digress...

6. About ten minutes into the pilot episode.
That was a horrible horrible show. IMO.

7. Why was it 'horrible'?
I remember some of the critics' reviews, but they misperceived the plot and came to the wrong conclusions; it was not pro-soviet!

Or that's how I felt...
