Is It Me or Are All CBS Dramas Exactly the Same?
Edited on Sat Apr-12-08 07:32 PM by Yavin4
They're all about a smart and somewhat unorthodox team of criminal investigators who use modern science and forensic techniques to solve crimes:

CSI Miami
CSI New York
CSI
Criminal Minds
Without a Trace
Numbers
Cold Case
NCIS

1. TV's become so
formulaic and predictable. And the phenomenon crosses networks. That's why I don't watch anymore.

2. Yeah, it gets hard to keep track of which characters are boning who and which characters
want to be boning who... it's like, "Wait: The brunette wanted to hook up with the older white guy, right? Then why is she after the young, handsome black man? Oh, that was the brunette in the OTHER show, nevermind." :P

3. You left out there best show
NCIS. Its the only one I watch. If the others were like it I'd watch them too. But I do agree there is an eerie sameness to those you list.

5. The Formula: At least 2 hot chicks.......
as regulars. Lead actor has no interest in the hot chicks, but has some type of hobby or secret that drives hot chicks crazy. Only pretty rich people get murdered. More hot chicks. Leave doors unlocked. Take criminals out the front doors of jails. Have witnesses meet each other in the hallways of the station and argue or fight. Solve the crime the same day that it happens. More hot chicks.

6. I only watch Numbers
I haven't really watched much of the other ones. The CSI shows seem like bad imitations of the X-Files to me...

Numbers has great actors.... Judd Hirsch, Rob Morrow, Peter MacNicol

7. Isn't that the CSI network?
CSI. CSI New York. CSI Miami. And for the dyslexics out there NCIS.

8. yes. production values suck
they all have cheesy scripts and poor special effects. The worst is Cold Case, who often uses music to substitute for the special effects

9. Couldn't answer. Network TV has been dead for years as far as I'm concerned. Not relevant...
like the Speed Channel, or HGTV, or AMC or TVLand.
