There is now a name in baseball stranger than Coco Crisp
And, oddly enough, it has the same initials.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Callix Crabbe of the Sandy Eggo Madres:

1. Coco Crisp isn't a name...
it's a breakfast cereal. At least it should be. There are some great baseball names out there...but damned if I can think of any right now. I can barely remember my own.

I need to go home and knit or sleep or watch baseball or sumpin'.

2. Well, there was Eli Grba, the Vowelless Wonder
And Doug "Eye Chart" Gwoszd... or Gwozsd... either way, it's pronounced "Goosh."

Two of my favorites were pitchers Rollie Fingers and Bill Hands, and I could swear Pittsburgh had a reliever in the '60s named Knuckles.

6. The Dodgers have a kid in Double-A named
Raymond Luxury Yacht.

It's not a problem when they're at home in Jacksonville, but on the road it confuses the hell out of PA announcers who don't realize it's pronounced "Throat Warbler Mangrove."

Oh, and the concessions managers with the Giants' Triple-A club in Fresno are a husband-and-wife team, A Sniveling Little Rat-Faced Git and Dreary Fat Boring Old Git.

I wouldn't recommend eating at a game there. Lord knows what they put in the mustard.

9. How about Christopher Davis?
Not that Christopher Davis is a strange name, rather banal actually. However what is strange is that everyone called him Ben.

It was something like his mother named him Christopher but his dad named him Ben.
