Pics of Spring in N. Texas:

This was a worm, or caterpillar, hanging down from a tree
(after I cropped the pic, it took my husband longer than it took me to see something else in the pic! lol)

Amazingly, there are some plums that survived, from the late snow of Mar. 6th!

Here are two little survivors. Though, last year the birds ate every plum that ripened!

1. My dear KC2!
I must say that your photographic skills are wonderful...

These are stunning!

How good that you caught the pelican in flight!

The flowers are all wonderfully beautiful, and I love the mama duck and her brood!

Really, all of them are first rate!

I'm starting to feel threatened, lol!

11. Very nice, thank you!
I want to get a spider web shot, but haven't had my camera with me whenever I see one.

Just curious about the kind of rock near that one blue bonnet pic... the one in the background looks almost like petrified wood. Or, is it pipe stone... do you know? Thanks for sharing! :hi:

18. That is my favorite bluebonnet pic
I took it at our place in Llano County a couple of years ago. I love the single bluebonnet and the rich colors of the rock. The wood in the background is an old about 6 x 6 wood beam that was laid to define the top of a culvert probably 50 years ago or more. It is obviously weathered and has a very intriguing look. I like the way you can't really tell if it is rock or woo, or petrified wood.

19. Thanks for answering that
It really did resemble petrified wood!

I really like that pic, btw, if I didn't tell you. :-) :hi:

14. Ouch! Only three weeks... what bad luck!
There was some evidence, at the park, of the recent storm too.
Here are some pics where the trail was blocked by fallen trees:

It truly was a powerful storm

We were very lucky. We only lost some lemon blossoms in our backyard,
and lost electricity for about 12 hours. It could have been much worse.

I love Texas in the spring! Especially the hill country area. I'm going to miss it so much when I move away in August :(

10. Very nice! So, is that the tree behind the caterpillar?
(Because if it's what it looks like, I am extremely disappointed in your focusing choices. ;))

And, yes, it is a tree in the background! lol I probably should have cropped the pic differently... but I couldn't resist. It really does remind me of a painting I saw once (the image of the torso)... don't ask which painting or where I saw it, because I don't remember! :D :hi:

I should go out and cover up the lemon tree... most of those other flowers were taken elsewhere! :hi:

22. Birds really like plums, don't they?
We had plum trees for 15 years here in Vegas -- great for fruit, if you water -- and the birds savaged them yearly. Apricots and pomegranates we grew sick of, but plums? I can't remember the last time I had one.
