So kitteh is fascinated by the wall clock, and constantly watches the hands move. We joke about how it's his God that he worships, as he sits under it forever and watches it.

I'm sitting here writing an email to a Professor, and all of a sudden, the cat leaps over 5.5 feet into the air, catches it with his paw, and brings it crashing to the ground. It tumbled all the way into the next room. It still works, but the glass on the front is cracked/shattered.

I have never seen a cat jump that high, esp. without a head start. :wow:

They're good, aren't they?
Years ago my cat managed to get into a buffet shelf, knock it down and break all my wedding crystal. x(

My current cats have limited themselves pretty much to furniture destruction.

2. I had a cat break a lamp once.
He also lost my nursing school pin (he batted it off the kitchen counter and across the floor under the refrigerator) and tore my mother's favorite (expensive) pair of slacks. That cat ran up quite a tab in his 13 years.

14. I could tell you a worse story involving a wall clock and cockroaches, but
I'll spare you. Needless to say, I have never thrown an object so far and so quickly. :o

6. Never underestimate the vertical powers of cats
Mine can jump to a ledge over my head and pull himself up the rest of the way.

But not before a lot of thinking about it :)

7. He's been jumping at it forever, and today he succeeded...
Last week it was his new triumph of jumping onto Sniffa's dresser. Not until he'd made several failed attempts which woke us up at 4 am.

:hi:

15. I've seen my cat jump up on shelves and fences 6-7 feet high and still land gracefully.
The agility of these animals is just unreal.

16. My cat Erin jumped on top of my fridge.
His usual route was blocked, since I was cooking on the stove.

So from the floor, he jumps 5 feet straight up, on to the fridge.
My jaw is hitting the floor, and Erin looks at me with a "What?" look. :-)

19. Cat on the roof
Mine will jump up the lower roof from the top of the deck railing, about 6 feet. When he's ready to come down, he jumps down to the patio table. It is rather nerve-wracking watching him do that. :hide:
