What is the meaning of life, anyway?
We are born.

We live

We die.

Seems kinda two-dimensional and beige, doesn't it???

1. I think it's the middle part that's the most important.
You know, the "we live" thing. At least, that's my take on it.

Also, beige sucks.

I just watched "For the Love of the Game" recently, and had forgotten about Costner's nod to Koufax. Classy.

18. I thought about posting this:

Well, that's the end of the film. Now, here's the meaning of life. Thank you, Brigitte. Mmhmm. Well, it's nothing very special:

Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations. And, finally, here are some completely gratuitous pictures of penises to annoy the censors and to hopefully spark some sort of controversy, which, it seems, is the only wa these days to get the jaded, video-sated public off their fucking arses and back in the sodding cinema. "Family entertainment," bollocks! What they want is filth — people doing things to each other with chainsaws during Tupperware parties, babysitters being stabbed with knitting needles by gay presidential candidates, vigilante groups strangling chickens, armed bands of theatre critics exterminating mutant goats — where's the fun in pictures? Oh, well, there we are. Here's the theme music. Goodnight.

But it's baseball season. :D

30. Here are two more answers by Monty Python:
The Meaning Of Life

Why are we here? What's life all about?
Is God really real, or is there some doubt?
Well, tonight, we're going to sort it all out,
For, tonight, it's 'The Meaning of Life'.

What's the point of all this hoax?
Is it the chicken and the egg time? Are we just yolks?
Or, perhaps, we're just one of God's little jokes.
Well, ça c'est 'The Meaning of Life'.

Is life just a game where we make up the rules
While we're searching for something to say,
Or are we just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DN-- nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.

What is life? What is our fate?
Is there a Heaven and Hell? Do we reincarnate?
Is mankind evolving, or is it too late?
Well, tonight, here's 'The Meaning of Life'.

For millions, this 'life' is a sad vale of tears,
Sitting 'round with really nothing to say
While the scientists say we're just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DN-- nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.

So, just why-- why are we here,
And just what-- what-- what-- what do we fear?
Well, ce soir, for a change, it will all be made clear,
For this is 'The Meaning of Life'. C'est le sens de la vie.
This is 'The Meaning of Life'.

The Galaxy Song

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour,
That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned,
A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour,
Of the galaxy we call the 'Milky Way'.
Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick,
But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide.
We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point.
We go 'round every two hundred million years,
And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whizz
As fast as it can go, at the speed of light, you know,
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth

or there is no real meaning except to be part of the food chain and we have broken the chain and will soon destroy ourselves.

The other possibility is that we are in fact here with some unknown purpose (to me anyway)

appreciate your role in the fabric, it won't unravel. You'll just fray away ...

I prefer to tighten the knots, so to speak. That way, I look over the tapestry with more than mere reverence ... I am a willing participant in the greatest organzational effort possible.

Beige? You need to get out more.

35. the meaning of life to me has to do with a search. A serch within ourselves.
The purpose would be to get to a state of contentment,of wellfare, feeling truthfully that we're heading in the right direction. A search and an effort to level ourselves in a position where we know we make the right choices or that we know we don't make the right choices. Humans are human which is not in my belief the same as just a part of a natural evolution. I beleive we could seek for another meaning of life, something that has to do with our very nature as human beings, but we need to believe in ourselves and not dismiss our nature - rather comprehend it. To sum it up, it's all about making peace within us, and attain a degree of certitude and wellfare. We have to seek and sometimes fight in and for ourselves.
