Reading Richard Hugo, Listening to Bob Dylan
smoking Marlboros, drinking a can of Dew, selling books and writing new poetry.

Damn, it's a good day here in Milwaukee.

What are you guys up to?

:hi:

3. My dear Retro!
Ah, just posting, thinking about my next homework assignment from my poetry teacher...

We're going to a local recital in a nearby church in a little over half an hour...

Very relaxed day!

Your day does sound good!

4. Dying, I think...
I mean, I'm a hypochondriac, so obviously I can't *just* have a cold. :D

I did have a lovely breakfast with my MIL and FIL though. :)

Other than that, I'm sitting around in sweats, watching BBC America, and resisting the urge to do research paper work, b/c I'm "supposed" to be resting. x(

5. A good day here too
got up this morning and went to a once-a-year book sale. saw some people I haven't seen in ages, met some I'd talked to but never seen face to face.

found some fun stuff, even tho I know I shouldn't be buying books now... except these are special ones, not for anyone else to buy from me. also got a used copy of Nicholson Baker's _Double Fold_ - he contention (I agree) is that physical artifacts are superior to some digital form...as in editions of books, old newspapers... old books are disappearing from reference library shelves. (They never hung around in public libraries.) The ones that are not scanned and tossed are being gathered up and put into closed stacked warehouses (with perfect conditions for the books, tho.)

It gets harder to go into an old library and scan the shelves and, by some wonderful serendipity, find an original volume of a work written before 1820.

Part of the joy of a library or a bookstore is simply scanning the shelves and finding something you didn't even know to expect.

chilly and overcast... sometimes a little rain passing thru.

then went to the Farmer's Mkt. after the sale and found some violets... johnny jump ups. they smell so good. also got a pot of chives to put on my windowsill, and went over to the Obama table (all the pol parties have tables at the farmer's mkt.) and got a yard sign, finally. now it's outside.

stopped into the local health foodie grocery place and got a lunch of roasted red pepper salmon, roasted carrots and roasted brussel sprouts.

yes, today is a fine day.

6. Slow .......
Reading the new, probably the last, Kurt Vonnegut collection, "Armageddon In Retrospect."

Simmering black bean soup in the kitchen.

Burping from the Thai lunch.

Practicing my newfound skill, walking.

Considering a nap.

10. Weird
I am listening to a Dylan tune ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=skpdaxK91aw ), smoked some pot :hide:,a glass of Merlot and now I am wondering if I should do the dishes or nuke a Boca burger.
I will probably open a bottle of vino and gaze numbingly at the du board.
And go to sleep around ten wondering what I accomplished this evening.
