24. Around here, most of the proms were last weekend.

School gets out right before Memorial Day, but still -- that's more than a month away.

When I graduated, back in the dark ages, the last day of school for seniors was on a Friday, prom was Saturday night, after-prom went until about 5 am, most of us went to Cedar Point on Sunday. Then graduation rehearsal was on Monday, and graduation was on Tuesday night. It was a cool way to end the last year of school.

Jr. Prom was a couple of weeks earlier, last day of school for non-seniors was probably a day or so after our graduation.

It seems really screwed up here. Not just the early prom, but graduation is 1 1/2- 2 weeks before the official end of the school year. Some of the seniors have to take finals *after* graduation. They do this bullshit thing where some of the kids are exempt from finals due to perfect attendance, but still...

22. Truth be told, it was a lot of fun. The kids had a great time.

We had some terrific prizes for them, too. Gift Cards, a Wii, $$$$$. They really had fun.

My only complaint with this is that I think the location is further from the school than it needs to be. Last year, a little girl was sound asleep in one of the chairs when it was time to leave. She scared me so badly, I followed her home. She probably thought I was stalking her. :rofl:

And, when we finally emerge from the event to pack up, the frickin' birds are singing. Now THAT is depressing.
