Whenever I look at pics of DUers or others online, I focus on
the background far more than the person. I always want to see what books they have, or what kitchen setups, etc.

1. Well, please don't judge me by the state of my room...
I still haven't been able to unpack all my junk because there was so much junk in here already when I moved in. :)

And the bookshelves here are full of all my grandparents' books. Mine are still packed away... in five huge boxes.

2. What if there's not much of anything
in the background, what do you look at then?

So you're telling me you would rather look at the spraying water rather than my cute, sexy face?!?!?!?!? :P ;) :)

4. Actually, your pic is well focused, for my brain...
You stand out, rather than blend in with the background, which is what I think distracts me, unconsciously. :hi:

Like in this case.

32. same here. when I go to someone's house for the first time, I notice the following:
a whether there ARE bookshelves
b whether same shelves are full of books or decor
c what books are there.. I love to know what others are reading

then I check out the kitchen layout.

16. Just curiousity
but I always use the same picture. What do my purple sheets with rainbow trim say about me or what do they say to you, since you're the one interested in backgrounds.

29. The picture's a couple years old.
It was actually a wedding for one of my husband's long time friends. Ironically, he liked the coat too and spent much of the reception wearing my coat.
