Please tell me that I was not the only one that watched "Torchwood" last night .
All I have to say is

And mind you that while I was watching the episode it was pouring down raining outside. I cried for at least 10 minutes and went to sleep. And I don't like the rumours about the changes in the show for next season. If aint broke don't fix it.

1. You weren't the only one watching, trust me!
I saw it too. You're right about the next season rumors, if the show changes too much it will most likely lose me as a watcher.

2. I watched it a couple of weeks ago.
It was so sad. I can't believe it ended like that.

3. Yeah I read your post about it ...
and even though I already knew what would happen. I still cried. Why did Tosh have to die ?

4. I don't know.
That farewell video was so sad. I was already at peace with Owen dying, but killing Tosh was too much. :cries:

5. I don't even want to watch any re-runs from this season.
Knowing how it all "ends".

6. Me neither.
But I've moved on to Doctor Who, which started the day after Torchwood ended. It has a lighter sensibility than Torchwood. And Sarah Jane Adventures started on Sci-Fi last week. It's like a competent Torchwood without the smut, as done by children.

17. Hey, are you the one who said Gwen was annoying in the Finale?
Because she was BARELY in it.
FYI. I think I'm the only person who loves her. I just really really hate Rhys. I was rooting for him to get whacked in this episode.

8. My SIL made us record it because of James Marsters.
But I don't watch the show, and haven't looked at this episode yet. I wasn't even sure that Torchwood was a series.

21. I was impressed. And moved.
That line, "Because you're breaking my heart!" really got to me.

Without knowing a thing about the series, I found I was following much of it. It was powerful, and Marsters, of course, brought some nuance to what I thought was going to be a stock villain.

11. I've seen it.... not last night though...

I had a similar tearful reaction, but I'm afraid for different reasons. I couldn't believe that a Doctor Who (greatest show ever) spinoff could really suck so much.

edited to add:
the new Doctor Who episode tonight almost made me a little teary at the end, but with all of these stupid warnings characters give the doctor are getting really tiring.

12. Was it the one with the Titanic on the Sci-Fi channel or the ones with Martha ?
I like Rose as his companion. They are really f-ing up the Doctor Who-niverse with changes on both shows. There is no way they can make Jack Harkness straight. If they take away his trench coat thats it for me. That coat blowing in the wind is something else lol.

13. Did they make him straight?
Really, I don't like Torchwood and don't keep up with it, so they could change loads of things, and I wouldn't notice.

The new season DW mostly features another woman (not Martha or Rose), though supposedly Martha and Rose will both be in some episodes (Rose already was, just briefly - another one of these stupid foreshadowing things).

I kind of feel like they're screwing things up too. I really like the new series, mostly because I wasn't old enough to really appreciate the show when it was on in the 80's, and just because it's new, which is kind of awesome, and I like that it's really making new people interested in the show who wouldn't have been before (me: "hey! check out these videotapes I have of a low budget British sci-fi serial from the 70's. It's awesome." any woman: "no thanks"). They should learn to leave well enough along, but it seems like they won't.... eh... fuck it. It's a show that people make for my entertainment, I shouldn't complain too much.

15. We watched it finally. **SPOILER WARNING**
I am mixed in my reaction to it. Frankly I was not all that hip to Owen--I always kind of thought he was a twit, and Tosh was not the reason i watched that show either. I didn't dislike her character, but she just kind of left me lukewarm, somehow.

Jack, on the other hand, is a hoot. If they try and 'straighten" him any it will piss me off hugely because his "mega-sexuality" is a part of the base character. He is an ALIEN and he has a drive to spread his genetic material across the universe. This was all explained in Dr Who, and THAT is why The Doctor (and Martha, too) react to Jack the way they do. He is supposed to be horny all the time...

YMMV.

19. I don't think they're trying to straighten him...
I love that aspect of his character too...
And didn't you just love James Marsters? I think he's a fantastic actor and doesn't get near enough credit.

16. I watched.
Owen was already dead and that limited the writing they could do for him. So, he kind of had to go. I'm really sad about Tosh, although she was a bit annoying at times.
I'm sorry you cried for so long. It was sad. I agree.
