Iliotibial band syndrome
is the formal medical term for "My knee hurts."

I am sitting at home with frozen peas on my left knee.

2. I think it's as a result of running a trail half-marathon
My trail running shoes have better traction but less cushioning. And the agility required to run trails is different than the motion of running on roads.

I'm nervous because I'm supposed to run a marathon in five weeks, but my coaches assure me that I'm in good enough shape to finish; that it's more important to get there uninjured; and that I can crosstrain (swim and use the elliptical trainer) to keep my fitness.

3. Mixed vegetables work better on knees
Smaller frozen foodstuffs, such as peas and corn, are better for necks and shoulders.

If you strain a big muscle, like a hamstring, quad, calf or lower back, use frozen potatoes. (Steak fries work better than regular-sized fries.)

I forget what works best on ankles. Might be broccoli.

6. frozen brussels sprouts are excellent first aid. They stay frozen longer
and can be manipulated around the area fairly well.

7. Medical peas!
 That's what my family calls them - we always have one bag of frozen "medical peas" used exclusively for injuries like that. :pals: I'm sorry your knee hurts, and I really hope it gets better soon! :hi:
