How do you get the stench out of the fridge?
So the fridge has been dying for about a month, and all the food in the freezer went VERY bad. I took all the food out, but it still sorta stinks in there.

How do I make it stink less?

2. Scrubbing with baking soda could help,
I've also read about, but not tried, pouring vanilla extract into a small dish/saucer/bowl and putting a cotton ball in the middle and putting it into the fridge or freezer. This is supposed to get rid of oder.

Good Luck!

5. Don't think of it as taking the stench out of the fridge.
Think of it as removing the fridge from around the stench.

6. You can't. You have to get rid of the fridge.
The smell permeates the plastic and won't come out. Trust me, I know this from disgusting rotted meat experience.

7. Fresh ground coffee
When we moved our freezer had a horrible smell even though there was no prior problem. The movers said this was common and to grind some coffee beans and dump them in the bottom. We change the grinds every six months and have not had an odor since then.

9. Scrub it clean and leave it to stand with the door open
until it ceased to stink, I expect.

10. Oh, that's easy if the fridge is dying. Just pick out a new one from a store
that delivers the quickest and two muscular young men will appear at your door and take the thing away and install your new one! All you have to do is throw out the old stuff in plastic bags or in your recycle bin for the next pickup of garbage.

Problemo solved!

12. Old Tennis shoes go in the closet, not the fridge.
Baking Soda, rinse repeat.

Save up money and buy a new one.

13. Baking soda.
Open an entire box of baking soda and leave it in there a few days. It might not seem to be working at first, but in time, it will absorb the odors. If it doesn't smell at least tolerably less odorous after 3 days, trash that box and get a new box.
