4. 5-08-77 was your first show?

Wow. That is the all timer for sure.....The Dew is incredible, the Dancin, Scarlet/Fire....?take a step back, just anotehr step back"....Must've been hard to live up to that one.

Mother's day 1977 with a ferocious snowstorm later in the day.

Had no idea what to expect.

Before the days of the "touch heads", with no "parking lot scene" per se.

Just a wild, surreal intensity on the entire Cornell campus.

Before we went in, it felt like something very "serious" was going to happen.

Spontaneous applause in the line to get in....wild hoots and hollers breaking out for no reason. and once they started, they would just swell to a deafening roar and last for 5 minutes.

Then the snow started....and it just got WEIRD.

And then inside....I guess all I can say is that the intensity in the air that night was so strong and unpredictable that it was downright scary to this newbie.

And sure enough...it came out in the music.
