it's coffee dammit, not under-flavored brown water! At least tell me it's real coffee and not Folger's, Maxwell House or Sanka.

Better than the crap they offer for free around here, I think that stuff is left over coffee husks.

23. Damn you people!
Reading this thread made me crave a cup of coffee. I buy Organic Equal Exchange French Roast in
5 lb. bags, grind it, dump it in Merlita one cup #2 filter holder.
Here's the thing, untill today I never measured the grounds. My mood/need dictates how much I dump in. So I decide to measure. First the mug, it holds 1-1/2 Cups. I get out a measuring Tablespoon and discover that on my good mood days, 4 T spoons rounded is what I require per mug!
Tell me I'm not alone, I need to hear it.

Anyone have any experience with reducing their blood pressure by quitting coffee or switching to de-caf (I hate that shit)?

68. If you say so...
I just prefer chai (and no, it's not "chai tea" since you basically just said "tea tea" :P)

Chai (8 qts) from Nicket through AngelWithPolkaDotWings

2 bags.....Green Tea
2 bags.....Darjeeling
1".........Fresh Ginger
20.........Cloves
30.........Peppercorns
40.........Cardamom Seeds
3 sticks...Cinnamon

Brew tea and discard. Add spices & boil. Simmer 2 hours.

There you have it. Probably a good thing to do on a chilly day. I have a big 12-quart stock pot I use and then strain and pour into gallon-sized glass jugs for room-temp storage. Or store in any cool place be that a fridge or cellar.

56. That's how I feel
LynneSin gave Haruka and me a Teavana machine for our wedding. It makes the strongest Irish Breakfast Tea ever. You'll still be tweaking a couple hours after a big mug. Haruka says it's "the cocaine of tea." I'll have to trust her on that, although, these days, she's a law-abiding citizen of the corporate world. A whole lot of people never saw that coming.
