1. I've wondered that myself
Maybe because they're creative?

I mean, if that guy from Aerosmith worked in an office, would he ever even get a date?

3. Because playing music is a big mating ritual for them
Even Captain Beefheart said, "We're men, men playing music for women."

7. But I think that's true even if they're not rich and famous, to a lesser extent. nt

8. Because they are artists; art is cool to almost everyone.
Tastes differ, naturally, but art is sexy.

12. That's what I think, too.
:hi: It's not so much the money or the fame (although I imagine those could be nice bonuses, lol), but artistic expression can be a pretty powerful aphrodisiac.

9. different things for different ppl?
maybe some off these things, not all of them necessarily for everyone?

just some guesses.

I think the "star" factor is an issue for anyone in a performing arts profession... those ppl put themselves out there to be seen. movies, music... esp.

They develop friendships with other artists... they're maybe in a band... who doesn't like to have a group of interesting friends?

Talent and art, as RT said. Anyone doing something well that they enjoy is sexy. Music is immediately accessible, so it's easier to see them doing something well. If you date a musician, they sing to you. that's pretty hard to resist.

Rebellion... after the boy bands (gender neutral teeny bopper stuff) dating a musician can really piss off your parents. (not to say that's always a good thing, but I'm sure that's part of it for some.)

They get away with stuff that lots of ppl would like to do, but don't have enough personal power or connections to do. (see rebellion, above)

Depending on the instrument(s) they play... they may have developed some talents that apply in other areas of life. all I'm gonna say about that one for now.

On the down side, social life can get pretty boring if they play a lot and travel a lot. You may love a song, but after a while....

Some guys aren't necessarily that prepared to just say no to their fans. How does a partner deal with that? Don't ask, don't tell? I'll kill you if... never have sex w/o a condom again? That's a pretty powerful reason to not want to be with a musician, depending on your feelings about this issue.

10. Better looking? I dunno about that.
But I guess the chicks think we're sexier, somehow. My guitar probably got me ten times the action I'd've gotten had I not been a guitar player. Although that ended when I cut my hair. I'm still a guit player, but no action whatsoever...lol.

Maybe it's the hair.
