It's not like it's the best job in the world, but I'd rather KEEP it, if they don't mind.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER speak business truth to power at a family owned company. Just nod your head and look agreeable.

The Owner/CEO/Plant Manager (that one when he WANTS to be) has done NOTHING on Management Review after being told point blank at the last Surveillance that he had to buckle down and DO IT.

So when I logically showed him he needed to DO IT...his response?

"You don't EVER tell me what to do! NOBODY EVER TELLS ME WHAT TO FUCKING DO!!!"

So now I've been shuffled under the Manufacturing Manager ("YOU are HIS BOY now!" and I'm 55) and Boss Guy is giving me the "Silent Treatment," AND a CADD guy in Engineering has been told to learn how a major party of my function works.

So maybe I'll have a job after this week, maybe I won't. All because I told this guy "The Truth."

GAWD I love American Capitalism.

1. Most of the time, management doesn't want to hear the truth,

They just want docile little drones who'll do what they're told, don't rock the boat, and don't ask questions.

2. I keep forgetting that...and I keep getting jobs where I have to have their buy in....
...or it just won't work, and then they blame ME.

If the last guy was so GREAT, why did they FIRE him?

3. Last real job I had
They made this woman the supervisor of all of us electronic tech because she had "management experience". Her experience consisted of being the assistant produce manage at a local grocery. She wouldn't have known what an electron was if it bit her on the ass but she was in charge of 20 electron chasers. The place is now closed-they off-shored everything.

4. This place is family owned, with a management style reminiscent of Tsarist Russia.
They don't keep a GULAG though: they just throw you out.

So weird; locally they say that if you want a job here in the factory, the first requirement is a Criminal Record.

5. I must be on everyone's list, including my employers.
Shit, people ask for vibes for their pet and I can't get "good luck, hope you don't get fired."

7. Perhaps it strikes too close to home.
And good luck, hope you don't get fired.

8. Don't mind me El, I'm just feeling badly abused.
One of the "family" lost a $10 Million DEFENSE contract through sloth and ignorance, and a new contract with a new customer is being placed on my head for success.

I didn't even know we had to have this audit on Wed. until last Thursday EVENING.

So I'm just pissin' and moanin'.
