She may have known you well, once.
That smile that only sometimes reaches your eyes,
The way your hair falls forward when you are thinking deep thoughts,
Your arm curled around your chest as you slip satisfied into slumber.

She clearly knows
All the places in you that still ache, and
Just when to stab.

She may have known you well, once, but
There is so much more to you than she could ever see.
One eye on you, the other watching to see if the two of you were being noticed together,
She overlooked the best of you.

I don't.

She may have known you well, once
But I know you well enough now
To tell you that it's not wise to feed monsters.
