I can't imagine a hell much worse that this.
I'm on my 55th hour with no sleep. There are worse things, but I know this is just the beginning.

Situational depression with associated panic.

I can't even get my ass out of the house to the doctor.

I don't know why I'm posting this, I don't expect many responses.

In fact, if I posted that I had a hangnail, I'd probably get 2 pages of responses.

Fucking crazy it is.

:hi:

10. Or a cop to bring you to a hospital. You say that you have not slept for 55 hrs.
That it is because of clinical depression. You say you cannot get to a doctor yourself. You need help right now. If I knew your address, I would call the police myself.

whiskey, beer and weed. Didn't work.

When I sobered up, I tried anti-anxiety pills. Felt like I ate some candy or something.

Thanks.

8. Do you know anyone that can drive you to a doctor?
They might have some medicine that can help, not just with the not sleeping but the anxiety as well.
You shouldnt even drive if you havent slept in that long.

I hope you get to feeling better real soon !

19. You probably already know this, but if you're on anti-depressants and have a period of....
....severe sleep deprivation/insomnia, it can trigger a psychotic episode. If there's ANY way you can get to a doctor, please go. All the best to you.

Right now the best thing you could do is follow all the advice to get yourself to a doctor or ER just as soon as you can. Within hours. Today.

At the least call your doctor's office on the phone, explain what's happening, if you can't leave the house, tell them. Then do what they say.

55 hours without sleep will leave you psychotic no matter how you felt before. You're really not in any shape to be making decisions. Just decide one thing. Make that call, like everyone is telling you.

As a last resort, buy some Vick's Nyquil. Vick's or store brand, doesn't matter. What you want is dextromethorphan, and 15mg. is the dose. Also get some Benadryl or the equivalent. Diphenhydramine is what you're looking for here. They're 25mg per pill and the standard dose is 2 pills.

Take 2 of the Benadryls, wait a good half-hour or so, and if you don't feel drowsy take a shot of the Nyquil. If you're still standing 45 minutes after that, call a friend with a gun and ask him to put you down.(This makes me think of Rasputin. Read about his death sometime. THAT crazy fucker was one tough dude!)

You need to sleep soon. Go to the doctor or ER, call the doctor, or do the Benadry-Nyquil thing. Pot and/or booze are very poor remedies. You need to get a good 8-10 hour sleep as soon as you can. You'll just continue to feel worse until you get that sleep. I hope you're not reading this till after you wake up.

go to a doctor immediately. Ok, you do not feel like it. Ok, go anyway..
...If your best friend were having a heart attack, wouldn't you want him/her to go to the doctor immediately. Call an ambulance, get help right away?

so it is with you. you are having a heart attack of sorts, for depressed and panicky people...so, why don't you take care of yourself, the same way you would ask a good friend to take care of him/self...her/self?

sure.many people live thru heart attacks, but some do not...

so if you cannot go, call an ambulance, fire dept, or police right now............please?

26. THANK YOU ALL
Still no sleep, 60 hours, but I am starting to get the feeling that I may be able to pass out tonight.

I truly do appreciate the concern of those of you who posted.

All of this shit started with me back in the early 90's when I had to work long hours with no breaks for many years (I'm talking like close to 50 straight at a pop).

So, that is when my depression essentially started, and this is how it manifests itself.

I am not psychotic, I have been through this before, and I just fight to deal with it until it passes.

Your concern touches me, and I thank you all.

27. Sorry I missed this earlier
I really hope you are OK. I've been through that on 2 occasions--two nights without *any* sleep even though I went to bed as regular-- and it was awful. "Psychotic" was too strong a word for me as well, but I felt like I couldn't put 2 thoughts together in a row.

Hope sleep comes tonight.

fuck, the old statement no one ever died from lack of sleep is not true.

Sleep deprivation will interfere with your heart rhythm at some point, probably has already and if you are panicky, then you are probably already throwing pvc's and a step away from an arrhythmia

I don't know what is up, but you need some sleep, hell a butt full of something and a stay in the hospital would be better than whatever is going on

call an ambulance

36. Be well. I suggest.
Sitting meditation.

Since you are not sleeping, you could get much needed rest in simple breathing. I recommend Shunryu Suzuki's "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" or "Not Always So". They are great books, and will make valuable use of your sleepless time.

But, otherwise, find peace, it's there.

You know we can't give medical advice here but that's what I'm telling you. Please.

At the very least, just lie down and try to be still for a while. Close your eyes. Breathe. Meditate (it's not complicated, really, just take deep breaths and be aware of them and let your mind go blank). Even if you can't sleep per se, at least that's rest of a sort.

39. for future reference, when you have this problem stay the fuck off of the internets
doing repetitive stimulating activities like online gaming or forum posting affects the brain like cocaine. The bright screen shoots stimuli into your brain. Instead: work up a sweat, take a hot shower, masturbate, and read. If that doesn't work you need pharmalogical help.
