Does anyone else besides me find this to be ironic?
I recently got a new job, working at one of these(just an example picture, I actually work for a different company):

And my primary mode of transportation is one of these:

I have a car, just fixed it up, but gas looks like its going to hit the stratosphere, so forget driving. I just find it ironic that I work at a gas station while not actually using gas myself. I feel like I'm vegetarian working for a butcher or something. :)

1. My dear Solon!
Wow, now that's the ultimate irony!

Or like driving a Honda, while working for Ford...

Good for you, riding your bike!

I hope your commute isn't too long, or too dangerous...

:hi:

2. The good news is that its relatively nearby, and on the same side of the highway as I am...

Otherwise I wouldn't even consider riding a bike to work, too dangerous. Another plus is that I grew up in this area, so I know the ins and outs of every neighborhood between work and home. The only thing I get somewhat nervous about is that I get off my shift at 10 PM at night, so I'm night riding. I have one of those safety vests, a bunch of reflectors on the bike, a headlamp and the frame of the bike is silver as it is, so I should be visible to all drivers, but I don't trust them half the time, so I go offroad whenever possible.

15. Get one of the flashing red lights for the back, they're cheap and make you much more visible

3. Another cool thing about this is that my boss lets me park the bike in the office...
inside the building, so I don't have to worry about anyone stealing it.

4. That's cool!
And I'm glad that you ride on the same side of the street as your job, and that you know the neighborhood so damn well!

Here's to your success!

5. I already figured, that at current gas prices(around 3.50/gallon), I'll save...
about 50 bucks every two weeks. That's damn near a quarter of my paycheck, yeah the job is cool, the pay sucks, but you take what you can get. I look like a total geek riding the thing, especially after I buy the saddle bag and some accessories to increase its storage capacity on my first paycheck, but I don't do it for looks, but to save money, let everyone else waste money on gas, I'm not going to do it.

6. Hah! Sucking up to the boss for brownie points!
"No, of course I won't be using my employee discount on the gas - can I get a raise instead?"

hehehe just kidding

7. Ha, I wish there was an employee discount, but no such luck...
Even the store manager doesn't get a discount, he get a free 10 gallons every month because he's the one who takes the money to the bank, etc.

8. Yeah, I didn't think they had one, I've heard people talk about how tight
the margin is at the stations themselves. Good choice on the bike. I have a bike and a 50cc scooter and they really help the wallet.

9. Yeah, my mom has a scooter, its broken and she doesn't use it...
and when I mean broken, she bought it that way, it was a fix it yourself purchase, so to speak. Damn thing looks like a truck hit it at high speed, the front fiberglass is broken, shattered on one side, and the lights are also broken, or don't have fittings to put them in. As far as I can tell, the engine is fine, but its really messed up that its so fucked up. I'll probably rebuild the engine this summer, if I can, and see if I can get it running, if I can, its salvageable.

10. Sounds like a good project. Something that won't cost a fortune and
could end up saving you money for the longer hauls. I have about 10,000 miles on my Yamaha Zuma now.

11. I'm no mechanic, but I generally can figure out the mechanics on my own...
The engine should be simple enough for me to figure out on my own, a small internal combustion engine with electronic ignition. I doubt its going to be easy, but what the hell, I'll give it a shot! :)

13. Nah
One of my oldest friends gets paid handsomely as ace car mechanic, and refuses to drive and hasn't had a license in 20 years. I love the guy like my brother, and that's one of the reasons why..

16. Yep. That's ironic.
And... I am a vegetarian and I just applied for a job at a butcher shop. Like, they don't actually kill animals there or anything, but mostly what they sell is raw meat.

I also applied at 2 grocery stores, 3 ice cream shops, a deli, a Panera's, a Subway's, a coffee shop, and a children's clothing store. I think there's something about my signature that turns any document into manager-repellent.
