Earthquake in Reno!!
The U.S. Geological Survey reports that a magnitude 4.1 quake hit just before 4 p.m. Thursday and was centered 4 miles west-northwest of Reno.

The survey says the quake followed smaller ones just beforehand. Several small quakes have been centered in the area in recent weeks.

2. That's not horribly abnormal, actually
My parents live about an hour south of Reno and their house was built to LA's earthquake codes...and for a reason.

One of the most active earthquake areas in the world is actually right by the CA/NV border. Not too far from Yosemite.
