I'm sooooo sick of coughing...

I just can't ditch this cold yet. It's been a week. Still coughing like a bastard, still stuffed up. Blah. I've been doing my regular school thing all week (took today off, I'm exhausted), and I can't shake this. Ugh. And I have SO much work to do in the next 3 weeks, it's not even remotely funny. My Dept Chair has it too, he's had it for about 3 weeks now, canceled all of his classes this week.

It would hurt like hell *again* but the 20 minutes of ensuing burning all over would be worth it. Nothing clears you out like tear gas.

it's really bad allergy time here and i had a cold plus allergies which is like the worst combo ever.

I *think* it's just a cold, as I quickly passed it on to my friend and then my husband, in about 2 days. Everyone in my Dept. seems to have some version of it. For Sniffa it could be both, and he works outdoors all day, which doesn't help with the allergy stuff.

not a huge fan of going to the doctors either "You really need to quit smoking" yes i know!!!!!!!! But anyhow if your chest starts to rattle or anything close to that you really, really need to go.

7. I no haz pneumonia...

I had a teensy fever last weekend, like 99.1, but it passed. No chills, no rattling. There is a bunch of crap in my lungs, it's just a matter of getting it out. This always happens when I get a cold, the cough just lingers...Smoking probably doesn't help matters much.

6. I know how you feel.....

My cold has been gone for two weeks, but I still have the cough and the gunk coming up, especially and night when I try to sleep.

I have some codeine cough syrup, which works great if you don't mind sleeping for 12 hours and waking up with wood for a brain.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm just now getting over a cold...with the same coughing. I was taking all sorts of shit...cough drops, cough syrup...and nothing. I had a glass of water handy just to try to stop my coughing. We have a weekly staff meeting every Tuesday and I had to leave it because of the coughing.

I hope you get better very soon...and I hope sniffa does, too.

Then I learned what was happening, was that bad colds were becoming sinus infections. The cold would clear up, but the sinus infection, it caused, would last forever. If it is a sinus infection, it will need meds to clear it up.

I thought mine was allergy related. The doc said it wasn't bacterial. She told me to take allergy meds and gave me an inhaler to help sooth the air passages in my chest to stop the spasmic coughing.

The coughing has been somewhat alleviated, but allergy meds are doing nothing for the nasal congestion and post-nasal drip.

I went all winter w/o getting sick. Now it's 70 degrees outside and I've got a cold? :wtf:

16. Tell me about it..I spent the whole night coughing,

At least it gave me an excuse to take off work today. But my lungs and my body hurt and I feel like a zombie. And it was not a tickle in my throat cough. It was coughing up flim and mucus. When I laid down I could hear the wheezing in my lungs. Whatever this is better go away soon. I don't have time to be sick.

Two weeks of fatigue and coughing up endless green phlegm, now I have itchy eyes and throat and constricted lungs!

At least I don't have the fatigue.

At least I didn't have both at the same time.
