For my birthday tonight
a friend and I went to Olive Garden. I had a drink, for the first time in ages. When did they switch a grasshopper from a regular cocktail to a frozen drink? It was good, but not as good as when it was a cocktail.

My sister (in L.A.) and I share a birthday--5 years apart. I swear, she was the worst present I ever got!! :P

1. Happy Birthday!

It's too bad some gifts can't be exchanged. :P

6. You are wrong on that one, my love
If not exchanged, at least returned . Ever hear of retroactive abortion? All you need is a sharp knife, a good vacuum, and a strong stomache.

And having grossed everybody out, Khash shall leave this thread in disgrace and run over to amazon.com and buy lots of books and put himself even deeper in debt. I've been looking for a good excuse for that. :)

Khash.

9. One problem

She's in California and I'm in Massachusetts now. I do have some revenge though, and I tease her incessantly on it--she is a smoker and a drinker, and she actually looks older than me. It's one of the few major vanities I have!

PS: I never need an excuse to go shopping at Amazon. :)

20. Ha!
I'm a smoker and a drinker and at one time a major drug user.

My mom said "You still look about 20, but you act like you're 80 when you aren't acting like you're 12." I'm actually in my 40s.

26. I guess the true lesson is how
young you feel, huh? I feel about 80 sometimes. I gotta start hanging around with younger people again. I used to have lots of younger friends, and it made me think younger as well.

11. Well, happy birthday to you,
a fellow Taurus and time twin! It was an okay day--just me, the cats, the television and the computer. Then my friend Steve and I drove into Boston College where he was dropping something off, and then off to the Olive Garden. I like it when it's peaceful like that. The only thing I wanted and didn't get were flowers. But that's okay--I'm going to be getting some next time I go shopping. :)

Glad to hear yours was good. I try not to be too depressed on the reflection of getting older. But nowadays I kid and say it's not a birthday, but an anniversary. So yesterday was the 23rd anniversary of my 29th birthday. :D

23. LOL! It was the 22nd anniversary of my 29th birthday.
It was a little tough this year due to losing Dad in February. He'd always call me on April 24th and pretend he couldn't remember what day my birthday was on. Oh well, he's up there in a new yellow truck going fishing somewhere.

25. Sorry for the loss
of your dad. I know what that's like, unfortunately. I think that's why I get glum about getting older in general. Though I lost my dad, my uncle and my aunt all within 6 months of each other, 25 years ago. (They were relatively young) But my mom is still going, at nearly 80, though I have a hard time looking at her being so old! (Her family is more long-lived than my dad's.)

12. It's been a very long time
since I had any kind of a drink. I just don't care for alcohol anymore. Nevertheless, when the occasional stuff does pass through my lips, it's always something sweet or mixed. When I ponder that, I usually end up with a non-alcoholic one instead.

I don't get out much anymore, so having someone pay for dinner and taking me out was a treat. :)

10. Happy Birthday!
I have a numerically significant one in a couple of weeks. Thankfully, I'll be out of country, so I don't think it counts.

17. Oh, it counts
But while I know that I tend to dread the inevitable, I find that once the actual day is gone, the dread is gone. I celebrated 5-0 two years ago, and it was a bit disappointing, and all these thoughts of insignificance went through me. But while I sometimes brood about that, I now find that what counts is mental attitude.

Happy Birthday in advance!
