Goslings!
Last Sunday, I polled the geese here and found them still nesting: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=7672244&mesg_id=7672765

Today the goslings made their debut, and I got hissed at and charged while taking baby shots--not even by the geese you see below, but by the mate of a female who's still sitting on eggs (that I didn't get near). No gooses were harmed in the taking of these pitchers:

3. That swan in the 2nd pic - is it spying, undercover? Part of a threesome?
Weird!

4. That's a domestic goose, a year-round resident of the lake...
...and the near-constant companion of a Canada goose with a lame wing. I'm not expert enough to tell the Canada geese apart, so I don't know whether there's a three-way vibe going on here, or what. The goose population comes and goes; we've found only three nests, while back in the fall up to six dozen transients hung around.

8. My dear Orsino!
Thank you for these great pics!

They are so cute, those little goslings...

I'm always glad to see something's not endangered yet!

I saw a gosling crossing the road the other day with not a parent in sight. I hope he found his family!
