Is there a site like Radio-Locater for TV stations?

I need to determine which antenna is best for receiving an HDTV
signal from Birmingham-60 miles away. Analog VHF and UHF reception
is fine with a HUGE directional antenna and a preamp. Problem is
analog is going away in Feb 09. DTV and HDTV are all on UHF.

Any help is appreciated.

AntennaWeb has just about everything you could want to know about teevee antennae.

Click "Choose an antenna" and enter your address. That'll bring up a list of stations in your area, color-coded for the type of antenna you need to receive them. Click on one of the colors for a description of the antenna.

I printed the list of stations with their compass orientations and also labeled them on my rotor so I'd know just where to point mine. (I live between two markets, so there're a lot of transmitters to the northwest, around San Francisco, and others to the west-southwest.)

I've also spent many hours at the FCC TV query site, where you can get exquisite detail on individual stations.
