Umpire at Dodgers-Rockies game taken off field in ambulance

Eleven-year veteran Kerwin Danley, the plate umpire, was hit on or near the neck by a Brad Penny fast ball in the fourth inning. :(

Holy freakin ouch. Espn reported there was no brain or artery damage, though his jaw was broken from what I caught of it.

I was too busy wincing to hear much. :scared:
