Jack Johnson has his moments that are ok. Mayer is a douchebag, but he's a good guitar player and has been on Chapelle show.

I can think of no redeeming qualities for Tom Hanks...er.. Dave Mathews.

6. I never heard of Jack Johnson until this week. He is to music what the garnish is to a margarita.

And seems to pander to the crowd who have no more intellectual or artistic interest in music other than as a background garnish to the blended Margaritas they're sucking down at a faux-Mexican beach-themed "restaurant" like Chi-Chis or Sergios.

He's awful.

But, awful as he is, he doesn't seem to be anywhere near the total douchebag that Dave Mathews is and that his ignorant yuppie moron fans are.

So, I vote Dave Matthews.

his music really puts one in the mood or reminds one of sitting back and relaxing in midst of a string of icy cold drinks as the sound of the water laps over your slow lazy thoughts

Around here (richmond) you are basically issued Dave Mathews CDs (used to play every Wed. night at a club here in the city) and when I heard Jack Johnson on the Curious George movie (bad movie) I loved it. Mayer, eh I don't know that much about him...he must be fairly cool from the company he keeps :P and some of his stuff is passable from what I have heard.

most teenage girls i know don't actually like him.. then again all they like is rap and country(an odd mixture i know). mayer has some good music and hes hilarious, isn't full of himself, and has a good sense of humour - all of those being hard to find in most musicians today.
