One regret I don't have any more.

I used to sometimes regret that I didn't go into Journalism. A few years ago, seeing what a sham the “journalism” in this country is, I decided I was glad I didn’t go into it.

Well, that’s ONE regret out of the way….:-)

1. Same here, I still like newspapers and reading them.
But now...and people still tell me I should be a teacher. What? In California?! Ha, no way. I made A's in college journalism and thought I missed the boat. Now look at all the college grads without jobs because there aren't any. I'm not a young spring chicken anymore so I feel if I were laid off my prospects would not be good at all 'cause employers want younger people.

3. I'm not a young spring chicken anymore either.

Once I started a thread about jobs/professions where age discrimination isn't so bad. Somebody suggested teaching, but I can't say, not having experience in that area.

2. Aside from any other issues, it's not a good biz to be in these days

"Print circulation continues on its steep downward slide, the Audit Bureau of Circulations revealed this morning in releasing the latest numbers for some of the country's largest dailies in the six-month period ending March 31, 2008. When a full analysis appears it is expected to find, according to sources, the biggest dip yet, about 3.5% daily and 4.5 for Sunday. "
