Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger (US)

Slip inside the eye of your mind
Don't you know you might find
A better place to play
You said that you'd once never been
All the things that you've seen
Will slowly fade away

So I start the revolution from my bed
Cos you said the brains I have went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

So Sally can wait, she knows its too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger I heard you say

Take me to the place where you go
Where nobody knows if it's night or day
Please don't put your life in the hands
Of a Rock n Roll band
Who'll throw it all away

So I start the revolution from my bed
Cos you said the brains I have went to my head
Step outside the summertime's in bloom
Stand up beside the fireplace
Take that look from off your face
You ain't ever gonna burn my heart out

So Sally can wait, she knows its too late as we're walking on by
Her soul slides away, but don't look back in anger I hear you say

Don't look back in anger
Don't look back in anger
Don't look back in anger
At least not today

2. The first CD I EVER owned was an Oasis CD.
What's the Story (Morning Glory?)

Got it for my 13th birthday. I still have it, and every now and then I'll break it out and give a listen.

16. I don't care what anybody else says - it's a great CD!
It's about 12 years old or something now, isn't it? And I still love listening to those songs. It's great stuff.

5. Also, is it me, or did both Oasis and Blur attempt their own version of "Hey Jude"?
Oasis: "Champagne Supernova" = "Hey Jude"
Blur: "Tender" = "Hey Jude"

8. i like their music, i also think they're total drunkard ego maniacal douchebags
but i don't have a problem with that, it kind of makes it better. Also the bonus is that my daughter hates them with a white hot passion so sometimes when where in my car and she's being smart assy i put on Oasis until she stops the nonsense.

18. Oasis is fine. Didn't produce a single moment of new music...
...worth remembering, and they sounded like a synthesis of so many bands from the '60s and '70s who were actually groundbreaking, thus sounded like a dozen other bands from their own era who were doing exactly the same thing. But Oasis had some real talent, and they made records and hit the road with flash, balls, humor and style. Not to mention controversy. That's why anyone remembers them today. As opposed to, say, Blur. Remember the Blur/Oasis dust-ups of the 20th century? How pointless they seem now, yeah? Only one group emerged unscathed from that battle, and it was the group of about a hundred truly original bands who came loonnngggg before Oasis and Blur and created for them, quite unintentionally, their entire templates. And who will be remembered looonnnnggg after Oasis and Blur are discarded on the ash-heaps of obscurity.

19. "worth remembering" To me it is.
I enjoyed your response btw.
I agree they broke no ground and weren't the most original of bands.
But I did enjoy the product that they produced.
