1. The tornado was like five miles east of us.
We live in Oklahoma City. We were good. Got a little hail and wind, but that was later. Thanks for worrying!

5. I lost power until about 2 p.m.
When I got up, I drove to town for a nice breakfast. Saw a few trees snapped in two.

I've got a generator for making it through power outages, but it runs on propane and I accidentally punctured my propane line while trying to plant tomatoes.

It was one of the nosiest storms I have yet seen blow through here.

11. It's actually worse than that.
I have very rocky soil. I bought a miner's pick to help me get past a few of those rocks. I was planting my tomatoes in the same general location I always plant them and encountered something hard. Aha! A pesky rock! I've got just the tool to move it.

I grabbed the pick and gave the object a good whack, then placed one end of the pick beneath it and started prying. That's when I saw the copper pipe and smelled the gas. They could've heard me shouting obscenities in the next county.

I ran to the propane tank, lifted the dome and scared the daylights out of a little wren that was nesting there. I DID find the shut-off valve and got things calmed down rather quickly.

Now I've gotta find a new location for my tomatoes.

Life is full. :-) Thanks for the hug!

10. 8 killed in AK? That's far from Texas alright
You didn't really mean Alaska, did you?

Anyway, I'm back on station in Germany, so I did miss things by a kilometer or two.

13. No sweat
I have days when I have trouble finding which side of bed to crawl out of,
so I'm not one to get to picky!
