Ok... pet picture time!!
Everyone post your pics of your pet (or the pet you wish you could have if your evil landlord would let you have a dog... sigh)

^ my cat, Valkyrie ( or as I like to call her.. cat, fucking cat, kitty, goddamn cat, and sugar bear.)

5. I need to add the other two:
Edited on Sat May-03-08 03:12 PM by ocelot
Milo (orange & white) and Jeoffry (gray tabby)

A few minutes ago Jeoffry snuck up on Milo, who was sleeping curled up on the chair next to me, and for no reason apparent to me, grabbed a hunk of Milo's fur in his teeth and yanked. I thought that was sort of an assholish thing to do, and I said so.

Mostly they are nice kitties, though.

What I can't figure out is how it gets decided what color the paw pads are supposed to be. Milo has white feet and his paws are pink. But Pixie has white feet, too, and her paw pads are dark gray (maybe to match her ears and tail?).

Cat feet :loveya:

83. What a great pic! Don't they look just perfect?! Here's my new favorite pic of my puppy...
Taken on one of the rare sunny days that we've had here. He likes going outside when it's not snowing or raining, but the good weather has it's own problems, since he'll pick up anything in his mouth, sticks, leaves, grass, pebbles, and I'm constantly pulling stuff out of his mouth. And he does the same thing inside. Yesterday he ate a dollar bill, but it was better than the five that he ate the last time. *sigh*

Jack, my crazy rescue Brussels Griffon, who just turned two at the end of March...:loveya:

46. There's only one piece of furniture
that she's used as a scratching post -- a downstairs futon that she sleeps on and makes comfortable for herself, so I'm just going to let her have it for the rest of her life. She's 14, and probably has a few more good years in her since she doesn't seem to have the genetic issue that laid her mom and brother underground. I was just speaking of any subsequent cats.

Edited on Sat May-03-08 09:15 PM by NJCher
She will be the last, since eventually we want to buy some new furniture.

Just clip their nails--very easy to do--with a nail clippers made for cats and also keep a scratching post or two around.

I have leather chairs and furniture that they never touch because of that. I have three cats.

p.s. a house without a cat is not a home.

What are you saying about Sarabi? Didn't you find her under "California Spangled" in that book? That's the most expensive cat in the world, you know! And she cost us a full $100 ... $50 for the adoption and another $50 to clear up her spay infection. That makes her the most expensive of the rescues, for sure.*

*NOTE: It's not the original price that's killing us, it's the food!

I'm glad you like the slipcover color. It's actually a blanket, one of about 8 that we have for covering the furniture. For future reference ... we also tried cream and navy colors. The cream showed up the black fur too nicely and the navy showed up the white fur equally well. The green doesn't look furry at all and therefore acts as a booby trap to unsuspecting guests. :P

I've actually never seen a dingleberry on either Sophie or Sylvester. However, I believe it is more than just coincidence that I find one on the floor just seconds after one of them has been in the litter box and walked past the place where the aforementioned item was deposited. MissHC did see one on Sylvester and decided she should take it off. This was right after she suggested that we cut the fur on their hineys to prevent such occurrences. You will have to ask her if she still thinks we should attempt the fur cutting.

103. Aha.
Yoru is the Japanese word for night and ichi is the Japanese word for the number one.

I thought that perhaps it meant first night or something of that nature, but it is probably just a name. (Though my Japanese is pretty bad.)
