Significant "public" numbers
There are so many "public" numbers that have meaning to most or some of us at least, either eliciting a giggle or a solemness relative to their meaning.

911: Regardless of whether it's 9-11-2001, or simply the number to call for help, it's one that is burned into our memory for better or worse.

42: The answer to life, the universe and everything. Also, for those who like inside jokes, Fox Mulder's apartment number. When I see a "42" popping up, I grin.

69: When I used to go to bingo, some people would groan when this one popped up. Yes, it's got its own little mythology, but it just hits the funny bone.

2001 or 2010: Arthur C Clarke made sure we wouldn't miss the beginning of the third millenium and the new century.

1492: Columbus sailed the ocean blue.

91210: Beverly Hills, anyone?

1776: We went down on record as starting our first pre-emptive strike, but with words, not guns. It didn't take King George of England long before he made the strike with weapons. At least he actually WAS a King, not an imposter!

1942: The start, for the U.S., of the War to End All Wars. Pity...not enough people listened to make that a reality.

In addition to those above, there are plenty of others which have been part of our lives, and even though we might use them every day, we might not realize it. Herein are some more for your inquiring minds, but I am presenting them to you as "Fill in the blanks." Some of you might know the answers from previous quizzes, and that's fine--if you do, perhaps you might even help out some of the people here who have never done the quiz in the past.

I won't ask you not to cheat, but I would suggest that you give yourself the benefit of the doubt and try to guess. Once you see the pattern, you will get more of them, and will be happier that you gave yourself the chance to figure it out without googling the answers.

Since it's almost 9:30 Sunday night, I will post the answers tomorrow, same time, same bat channel. Have fun!
