The cats hate the hole in the floor
I had to cut a hole in the floor to fit the new bathtub. Two of the cats are hiding and the other one is sitting staring at the hole, pawing at it and crying pitiously.

It took them two days to get over the laminate flooring.

1. keep the cats away from the hole
before they go exploring in the spaces between joists.

4. It goes straight down into my studio.
Yes, my studio, containing tens of thousands of dollars in sensitive electronic gear such a synthesizers, mixers and amplifiers, is directly below the bathroom.

3. A nosy group, aren't they
Earlier poster understated how cats hate change. They spot if a knick-knack's been moved and get all excited about it. I can only imagine a whole big hole in the floor. You definitely need to cover it up if you don't want to find kitty sealed in a wall one day!

6. When I had my pipes replaced
I had holes in the ceiling that I was sure Max wouldn't be able to get to. Turns out he pawed my laundry area doors open (I think they're called bifold doors), jumped on the washer, and then got in the ceiling. He did it once when I was home and I started hearing meowing from the ceiling! Once I figured out how he was getting up there I put heavy things in front of those doors (he was SO upset!). I was so afraid he was going to fall. I had to get my ladder and pull him out of there. :scared:

8. They are still not happy.
They have been fighting for the last few days and I had to chase one of them off the counter. Not the usual TrogL...yours.

She's probably mad 'cause we chopped three feet off the end for the dishwasher.

Is she done hissing at the new counter on the other side?
