75. Kind of the same situation here.

Except it's a certainty - I told him how I felt a few years ago, and he politely made it clear that he didn't feel the same way. Luckily, our friendship survived - in fact, I consider him one of my best friends here at college, but we're both graduating next week and he's joining the Peace Corps. I'm sure we'll at least try to stay in touch, but who knows if that will work out? I'm grateful for his friendship, but, like you, I kind of wish it had become something more...ah well. :hug:

wished she could find someone who was willing to be married only on weekends and in the summer. :-)

I'm not quite like that, but I'm at the point where I don't want to make a lot of effort to meet someone. If we run into each other in the course of our normal activities, fine, but I'm no longer willing to go through the emotional ups and downs of actually LOOKING and then finding nothing but Typical Middle American Suburban Guys.

I developed agoraphobia early on in teenage life. And after I felt myself escaping from it, truly, I was burdened with an illness and have rarely been able to leave the house these past few years for this reason.

I have gotten in touch with a man, though, and perhaps I can attend a coffee club to talk. Just that certain conditions must be in place - when I leave the house, I must take with me a portable oxygen cannister, so I must steer clear of smokers otherwise I'll blow up. :P Also I'm weak and can do little more than talk to people, which is more than enough, frankly. Still those in attendance must be aware that when I raise my hand, I'm not fit for speech, breathlessness.
