If you file a joint return, it's the first name on the return that they use as the social for sequencing the payments.

to be done by May 2. I suppose that isn't the case.

I filed single.

The IRS website is now saying it will go in when it was originally scheduled. They shouldn't get people's hopes all up like that.

My SSN put me in the May 9th group... which is when the IRS is now again saying it'll be deposited.

Glad my Credit Union is kind... they'll cover any checks because they know it's coming.

That might be the one bad thing about my CU.. they're so small that the direct deposit stuff has to be done by manually putting in the data into the computer... other than that, they rock completely.

4. My understanding was that the direct deposits would be on Friday.

And the mailed checks would go out on Monday. So I am expecting a direct deposit this Friday.

I heard that on MSNBC, but I have not seen any of the schedules online articulate that. So I could be wrong.

Stimulus Payment Schedule for Tax Returns Processed by April 15


Economic stimulus payments will be issued according to the last two-digits of the main filer's Social Security number. For joint filers, the payments will go out based on the person listed first on the return. Payments will be made by either direct deposit or paper check, consistent with how people filed their 2007 tax return.

People who use direct deposit also will be among the first to receive the payments starting April 28. Direct deposits will be made daily and completed by the date listed below:
DIRECT DEPOSIT

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be transmitted no later than:
00 through 20 May 2
21 through 75 May 9
76 through 99 May 16



Paper checks will also go out based on Social Security number. For Social Security numbers ending in 00 through 09, the paper checks will be mailed starting May 9 and will continue through May 16. A similar process will be repeated in the following weeks.

People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year. See the online calculator for an estimate of the amount you will receive.

A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15.

20. If you go to the irs.gov website, you can find out where your government money is.

I was supposed to get mine DD'ed by last Friday, it didn't show up. Yesterday I checked the IRS website to track my stimulus money - according to them, I'll be getting a check instead of DD, and it will be mailed tomorrow.

I don't know why this happened, I did my taxes with Turbo Tax and had my tax return DD'ed, so I'm not sure why my payment is a check and why it's late.

It's going to pay bills anyway, so no big deal I guess.

14. I was economically stimulated last night - direct deposit

I'm in the second group (May 9th), filed in early Feb and filed an amended return in late March.

All goes to pay some bills.

I filed mine April 14th. Did it through Turbo-Tax.

I was told, though, that I should get $600 back. And I did opt for Direct Deposit.

My last two SS digits end in the range where I should get it by this Friday.
