When I was a young boy, I thought leaving town with the circus was a career plan.

There was a circus that came to my hometown,; I was four or five.

Maybe six or seven, I'm no longer sure when it was.

I remember reading a book about a boy that left his home to travel with the CIRCUS!

I will never forget seeing the circus workers driving those stakes into the ground.

And I thought blacksmiths worked hard.

The giant tent, erected on the prairie was a wonderful structure.

A grand stage.

1. No, not that circus, silly.
http://flea-circus.com/ Where the Secrets of The Fleas Are Revealed!

There are historical reports of fleas glued to the base of the flea circus enclosure,
instruments were then glued to the flea performers and the enclosure was heated.
The fleas fought to escape giving the impression of fleas playing musical instruments.

2. Once met a guy who said he'd done that
Lied about his age to get a job when the carnival came through one spring and left with them when they left. Called his parents a year later to tell them not to worry.

4. I didn't lie about my age.
Just left with the show on Saturday night. Spent several years on the road and loved every minute of it.

3. Your post reminded me of a great book I read a while back:
"Water for Elephants"....it's all about a young man, like yourself, who joins a traveling circus during the 30's and the adventures that happen.

 I know you're a reader, so do yourself a favor and check it out! :hi:

xo!
