Roll call for insomniacs!
Jeezus, I'm getting sick of this.

I'm thinking about staying up all night and all day tomorrow so I can go to bed early.

Oh, and a PSA: Don't feed the trolls.

14. *lol* mine too. At least the day was busy enough to keep me
awake and engaged; no choice *lol* And tomorrow is my "Friday" 'cos I'm putting in my hours in four days so I can have Friday off without burning a vacation day; heading down to visit my Mom for Mother's Day on Friday. SO I can put up with being tired for one last day at work *lol* And then four day weekend, since I have the following Monday off too! :woohoo:

I have to give some thought for Mother's Day too. She loves to go out to eat, so I think I'll take her somewhere nice.

15. for some reason, I tend to dwell on the things I need to do the next day...
and unless i keep paper and pen on the nightstand, it stays until morning.. although, sometimes I wake up more refreshed after one of those 3 hour half-sleeps than I do a 9 hour restful sleep. I can also alternate sleeping days-- 3 hours on Tues & Thurs nights and 10 hours on Mon & Wed nights...

For some reason, speed (which my drugs are a derivative of) makes me alert and focused, but I am less finnicky and fidgety. And it's like the file bin of my brain gets put on auto-sort, which is nice. It's my wonder drug. :P

23. That's what I'm doing today
I actually have to be somewhere in the morning today, which is incredibly strange. I have a very hard time getting to sleep, and am thusly often awake for 20 hours at a time, but when I fall asleep, it's almost impossible to wake me up until I've had enough sleep. So.... I've stayed up. It's just past 7am now, and I've got to be somewhere at 10, but will probably run some stupid errands at 9. Ick :( Why isn't everything open 24 hours like it should be?

25. yeah, England
but I've been this way my whole life. When I was a teenager, it wasn't such a problem because I had loads of energy. Staying up for 36 hours was really no big deal. I often didn't sleep at night and was ok the next day until some time in my 20's. Now I need the sleep, but find it impossible to sleep on any normal schedule.

30. I'm in West Yorkshire
It's a rather boring part of the country, except that it is very hilly, which I wouldn't have thought about before I moved here. There are probably literally thousands of towns within and hour of London. London is a 3 hour train ride from here, and that's considered to be a very long ways away - it's a small country, so distance is thought of very differently than in the US. Also, with the exception of London, which is HUGE (if you've never been there, it's hard to describe - it's larger than any US city), there isn't really sprawl, so there are lots of towns within a few miles of each other, but still have their own train stations and town centers.

and like you knew them anyway... i bet it gets old when people ask you , "do you know so and so?" It happens to me all the time. Apparently everybody in KS knows everyone else, and forgot to tell me.

38. It's true for Kansas City, KS - everyone there knows each other
Or that was the impression I was given. My freshman year of college, my dorm room mate was from KC. Years later, at a different school, I was talking to the girl who lived in the apartment above mine from in the graduate student housing. She said she was from Kansas City, KS, and I told her that it was funny, because my room mate in college was also from there - turns out that they went to high school together. Funny stuff.

26. I didn't realize you were from the UK.
It's about 1:30 am. where I am.

When I finally fall asleep it's impossible to wake me up too. Thus, why I want to just stay up all day tomorrow to straighten out my schedule.

I do have a shopping center, grocery stores, and pharmacies open 24 hours here. So I can get "some" business done.

24 hour stores and restaurants are two things that I really miss about the US. I'd love to be able to go to Denny's at 4 and buy an electric screwdriver afterwards if I wanted to. *sigh* Oh well.

33. I'm in my last week before I graduate from college.
I went back to finish up when my job went to India.

I should be sleeping. Or at least studying. But thanks to the 40-120 ounces of soda I drink a day to keep me running for this last stretch, no sleep.

I'm so tired I can't focus on reading my stuff for school, but I'm so caffeinated, I won't be sleeping for a while.

37. If I were the normal college graduate age, it wouldn't be so bad.
I'm at the point where I could use a nap on a daily basis.

I'm closing in on yelling at the damn kids to get off my lawn, so this insomnia via caffeine is rough.

Thanks for the congrats. It's been a LONG time coming to finish this degree thanks to the years of one or two classes at night while working full time.

41. So, it sounds like I want to be you when I grow up. :-)

That's amazing. I've only run into a few kids in college who are doing something tough. Most are on mom and dad's dime, yet still have flat screen TVs, shop at Whole Foods daily, and have menial jobs.

It's a good thing that I'm bitter and lonely, because if I had to try and pull this off and care for a family, I would have been the guy on the news who'd snapped. (at least if I snapped, I'd be beating up Republicans instead of innocent people) :-)

I, like you, didn't get financial help from my parents.

My dad did take me in when I was pregnant and after my son was born for a while. He's an excellent cook and fed me well. He wanted me to have a big and healthy baby, and I'll always be grateful to him for that.
