2. The elderly sisters who had the still
They were great.

I also liked the recurring character John Ritter played, as the radical minister who defended black people and jewish people from the local rednecks (always with the Waltons' support).

8. I liked the pilot movie with Patricia Neal playing the mom...
It was a kind of quirky Christmas story called The Homecoming. I guess it was kind of sappy, and the script-writing could have been better; but I liked it anyway. Some of the characters were the same as in the series...I think all the kids were. The grandfather was different, but I can't remember the actor's name. Andrew Duggan played the father, and Cleavon Little portrayed a preacher from the black church.

10. Never really watched it
I don't remember, but there was probably something on opposite that I watched instead. Those were the days of no TIVO, VCRs or much of anything, really, that could have saved my sanity regarding programming. :)

17. Always loved Grandpa too
Will Geer was a good friend of Woody Guthrie and was blacklisted in the fifties for refusing to appear before HUAC (House Un-American Activities Committee). He was a great American :patriot:

18. The Waltons! (shudder) - brings back ugly memories
My brother and I were arguing about who started the fire at the Waltons' house after that episode. I went over and spat on him. He came over and spat on me. I went back and spat on him, and he came to me and threw a glass of orange juice in my face. We were ages 10 and 15 at the time.
