Pantyhose. I hate them.

No matter what size I get, by the end of the day the crotch has slid down near my knees. Uncomfortable as hell, hot, nasty and sweaty, they never fit properly. Even the "talls" ride down, and damn, just the slightest nick and one has an unsightly run.

Whodafuck ever thought pantyhose were a good idea.

those nylons that stay up by themselves? Thigh highs I think they call them. They stay UP for sure, cut off your circulation but boy oh boy do they stay up :)

Seriously, though - if you need to have ONE PAIR, Wolfords are the way to go - esp. the tights. Run-resistant (I owned 2 pair for almost 2 years, and even put the suckers in the washing machine - more than worth the $40/per-pair investment). Comfortable, too - I actually liked to wear them on cooler days (and yes, this was in LA) and they were godsends when I worked in NYC. You can only get them at hoity-toity stores (Saks, maybe Nordstrom's) or through their own website/boutique stores.

They DO NOT sag. I hate pantyhose, too, but the Wolford brand is different. Though I do believe you are quite tall and any hose might present difficulties for you (am I right? Or mistaken?).

Now, thigh-highs are OK, but you have to make sure the gripped flesh doesn't show thru your slacks or skirt - because too-tight thigh-highs can produce the same kind of unwanted silhouette as a bra that doesn't fit well (think 'back fat').

More economical because if you get a run, you only have to replace one leg's worth of stockings.
